Our Teaching and Learning Methods
Although translation helps students and teachers in classroom, it can hold back the development of student’s ability of oral comprehension and production in middle and long term.
LFBK provides French classes for both adults and children in a full immersion setting. Learning through immersion is the best way to learn a language at any age and the quickest way as well.
If you are a beginner, an immersion course will immediately get you talking and building basic conversation skills and will be helpful in avoiding falling into incorrect language patterns.
If you are intermediate or advanced an immersion class will turn you into a natural sounding French speaker.
We stick to a very small class setting of 2-7 students. This allows our teachers to give individual attention and instruction to each student. This is an indispensable advantage when learning a new language. It represents the foundation of our commitment in quality teaching.
We believe that grammar and vocabulary are “tools” for communication and collecting these tools shouldn’t be the only goal in language learning. In our school, we focus on developing students’ skills to correctly and efficiently utilize “tools” in the acts of communication. This is the reason why we emphasize speaking practice in class.
