Toast of the Town: March 2020

The weather is (seemingly) warming up, and better weather is the perfect excuse to escape hibernation and enjoy some of our favorite French delicacies: music, food, art, and wine.

Music: La Vie En Rose

There's nothing we love more than a romantic Jazz night! Cozy up and immerse yourself in an intimate night of French music at one of the city's most iconic music clubs. Singer/songwriter Violette was raised in Ars-en-Re, a small village on an island off the French Atlantic Coast, before making her home in Brooklyn. Her musical inspirations include Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson in addition to French dignitaries.

Food: Bake Croissants

Speak French, dress French, bake French. A triple whammy! ;) Meet other Francophiles as you learn how to make one of France's most iconic (and delicious!) flakey pastries.

Art: French Gallery Exhibition

As it turns out, you do not have to travel all the way to Europe to see iconic French art. Instead, head to The Armory at Piers 90/94 where six French galleries will be showcased this weekend. Do not miss our personal favorite: Galerie les Filles du Calvaire, a gallery from Paris that represents largely female artists.

Wine: French Wines: An Exploration

You think you know wine, but how well do you REALLY know it? Taste from some of France's most well-known regions, and learn how the soil, weather, and environment affect the taste, color, and smell of some of the most iconic wines.
